I could not miss showing respect for Memorial Day because many little dreamers have family members in the military. Hence, we dedicate this 10th edition of the newsletter to all the soldiers who surrendered their lives for this great country. The word we chose for this week is “honor.” To honor is to show high respect for someone or something.
Kids can apply the word honor in their everyday life. They can demonstrate it at home and in school by respecting the wishes of their parents and teachers — and by having self-respect. Children show honor and respect by obeying their parents. Parents also expect their children to follow the classroom rules set by their teacher. When they do, it signifies honor and respect. Teach children this virtue, and, like Memorial Day, they will never forget it.
